Bald

Bald. Bald, bald, bald. No matter how many times you say it, or how you say it, you will always get an image of a shaved head in your mind. Even just pronouncing the word “bald” seems to connote something bare.

Baldness is essentially the absence of hair. It is a condition more prominent in men than in women, especially during the late thirties to fifties of a person's life. A lot of people consider baldness a sign of old age, and attempt to cover up their being bald by using hair products. Wigs, hair regrowing treatment programs, sprays that create instant hair and hair transplants are some of the methods used to fight baldness. On the other hand, there are plenty not suffering from natural baldness who choose to shave their heads and keep their heads bald, for their own specific reasons.

The term “bald” has come to mean not just a head without hair, but something associated with being bare or naked. This can be in the literal or metaphorical sense. An example would be the phrase, “a bald-faced lie” or “bald feelings.” However any of us may view being bald however, it cannot be denied that baldness holds a certain fascination for people.
